Challenging our Self Limiting Beliefs

If we do not change the ways by which  we do things, nothing in our life will change. It is easy to remain in our comfort zone and repeat the same things over and over again and of course, get the same results over and over again. One area in which I have struggled is in the area of managing my weight, I start on a diet, I lose some weight, it gets too expensive or too monotonous, I revert back to my old ways and gain even faster than I ever did before the diet; it's as though my body have gone into starvation mode and wants to keep everything I put into it, just in case I start one of those "silly" diets again.

So today, I am coaching myself; I have re-affirmed my goal to loose 10kg in the next 1 month. I am going to eat the food I enjoy and I will exercise, only doing activities that I enjoy, I am not going to waste my money on any fancy diets and I am going to succeed and achieve this goal. I can hear some of you already saying it is not possible, or it is not realistic. I can hear myself saying the same too.

Why do we limit our chances at succeeding at a goal by immediately bringing forth our self limiting beliefs? Whenever we think of succeeding at anything, our doubts and fears quickly creep in, cloud our vision and prevent us from going forth on our way. How can we prevent these beliefs from taking charge?  We become our focus; if we believe it is impossible, then it becomes impossible. If for a moment, we believe it is possible; we start seeing solutions and ways of achieving the set goal.

The human mind has a huge  capacity to succeed at almost any thing it sets out to achieve, but first,  it has to succeed at challenging the beliefs that limits it's progress; the negative voice within. As for the weight loss, it is a matter for another day, I will keep you posted on the progress, that is a promise.
