Challenging our Self Limiting Beliefs
If we do not change the ways by which we do things, nothing in our life will change. It is easy to remain in our comfort zone and repeat the same things over and over again and of course, get the same results over and over again. One area in which I have struggled is in the area of managing my weight, I start on a diet, I lose some weight, it gets too expensive or too monotonous, I revert back to my old ways and gain even faster than I ever did before the diet; it's as though my body have gone into starvation mode and wants to keep everything I put into it, just in case I start one of those "silly" diets again.
So today, I am coaching myself; I have re-affirmed my goal to loose 10kg in the next 1 month. I am going to eat the food I enjoy and I will exercise, only doing activities that I enjoy, I am not going to waste my money on any fancy diets and I am going to succeed and achieve this goal. I can hear some of you already saying it is not possible, or it is not realistic. I can hear myself saying the same too.
Why do we limit our chances at succeeding at a goal by immediately bringing forth our self limiting beliefs? Whenever we think of succeeding at anything, our doubts and fears quickly creep in, cloud our vision and prevent us from going forth on our way. How can we prevent these beliefs from taking charge? We become our focus; if we believe it is impossible, then it becomes impossible. If for a moment, we believe it is possible; we start seeing solutions and ways of achieving the set goal.
The human mind has a huge capacity to succeed at almost any thing it sets out to achieve, but first, it has to succeed at challenging the beliefs that limits it's progress; the negative voice within. As for the weight loss, it is a matter for another day, I will keep you posted on the progress, that is a promise.

Daily Quotes - Compassion
Compassion impels us to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of our fellow creatures, to dethrone ourselves from the centre of our world and put others there, and to honour the inviolable sanctity of every single human being, treating everybody without exception, with absolute justice, equity and respect.

Stop and Look
In our very busy lives, how often do we remember to stop and look?
From our waking to our sleeping, from breakfast to tea time, from school run in the mornings to pick up in the afternoons, from reporting to work and the close of a hectic day; how often do we have the chance to look around and actually take in our surroundings?
When was the last time we looked at the green landscapes, the blue skies with white clouds, the break of dawn and the setting sun, the starry nights and even the moonless ones, the chirping birds and the buzzing bees; the mix of wonderful sounds that can only be heard when we quietly listen and the myriads of colour that can only be appreciated when we purposefully look.
It is very easy, if we do not try, to pass through life, only experiencing the chaos and not seeing the beauty of it as it daily unfolds. It is free, it costs nothing and it's reward is immense. How can we let these free sights go?
This is a call for us to stop, take a deep breathe in, look around, smile, its a beautiful world out there, take it in while you still can.

Planning Ahead
When does your week start? Is it Sunday or Monday? Mine starts on Sunday.
What I find most useful is to sit down on Saturday evening, for about an hour, review the week that has just ended, cross off finished tasks(that is the nicest bit), appraise unfinished tasks, why didn't I finish them? What were the obstacles? How can I overcome these obstacles next time? This is also when I finalize the list for the upcoming week.
What are my goals for the upcoming week? When in the week do I need to achieve them? What will I need to carry out the tasks, are there things I need to prepare in advance?
Lastly be flexible and realistic, do not overburden yourself, put things on the list that you absolutely enjoy and these are your time for relaxation, life doesn't have to be a list of tasks, there is so much more to it than that.
